▷ warnings ▶ The Book of Mormon is the brainchild of Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Enough said.  ▶ While he's currently wrestling with his faith, Kevin was raised in a very Mormon household and therefore has very specific, very Mormon views and opinions on things. This includes, but is definitely not limited to, homosexuality. Kevin was raised to believe that being gay is a choice. Having homosexual thoughts and desires is okay, so long as they aren't acted upon, because thoughts, unlike actions, can not be controlled. Acting on those thoughts and desires, as far as he's been taught, is a sin. He comes from a place where conversion therapy can and does happen, where homosexuality can and has, in some instances, been 'cured'. All of Kevin's beliefs are his and his alone, not the mun's. ▶ I am most definitely not Mormon. I have various texts to go by, but chances are I'm going to fudge some stuff up along the way. Hell, canon itself fudged some stuff in order to make it fit within the context of the show. This is all in fun and no disrespect is meant.   ▷ the basics ▶ CANON: The Book of Mormon ▶ AGE: 20 ▶ BIRTHDAY: August 23 ▶ IN DARROW SINCE: September, 2014 ▶ RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ▶ SEXUALITY: Mormon. He'll say straight. See bottom of page for notes. ▶ RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single ▶ CURRENT ADDRESS: 10B Candlewood Apartments ▶ OCCUPATION: Missionary (defunct), bike messenger, student ▶ CURRENTLY: Preparing to start his first semester at Darrow Community College. Battling an on going crisis of faith. ▷ the more you know ▶ SIGHT: Despite standing at what could potentially be an imposing 6'2", there's nothing the least bit intimidating about Kevin upon first glance. He slouches slightly, and so seems a bit shorter than he really is, has brown eyes and brown hair that is always neatly combed and parted to the side. He's fit, lean but toned, and moves with confidence and surety despite his height and longer limbs.  » DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS: Kevin will generally look neat and very well put together. From perfectly styled hair to neatly pressed clothing and a clean shaven face - appearances are very important as a missionary and, minus the uniform itself, Kevin still adheres very closely to standard missionary grooming etiquette. » STYLE: Conservative. Kevin is not prone to wearing loud colors or bold patterns; a missionary's appearance should not draw attention away from their the message. He'll more often than not be seen wearing dress slacks or khakis, and jeans only ever once in a while. Never faded or distressed and generally of a darker wash. He never wears t-shirts or anything with a graphic or logo. Polos, button downs and sweaters paired with blazers are more his style. If patterned, stripes or checks are as far as he'll go. » While they'll go unseen, two things Kevin will always have on him at any given time are his missionary name tag (pocketed, not worn) and temple garments. » CLONES: Kevin shares a PB with Hedwig, but it's pretty difficult to mistake one for the other after meeting one of them. Kevin looks a lot younger than Hedwig, has brown eyes rather than blue and doesn't have a German accent. They also both dress and style their hair completely differently. ▶ SOUND: His accent is American and fairly generic sounding. He speaks very clearly and properly, slang and profanity will never be heard coming out of his mouth. If and when he does feel the need to swear, words like dang, darn, bull poop and heck are as profane as he'll ever get. There may be the occasional 'son of a biscuit', and 'oh my, God' will almost always be replaced with 'oh my gosh'. He's a very charismatic speaker, but can come off as a bit condescending and preachy at times. His tone of voice can sound a bit nasally and often fluctuates greatly when he speaks. When he's frantic and his voice is at its highest, he does not sound all that unlike a cartoon mouse.                        » Kevin can sing. Amazingly well, in fact. No, really, it's something incredible. ▶ SMELL: Clean. Kevin smells of whatever soap and shampoo he's purchased for the shower and isn't loyal to any brand in particular. His clothes always smell freshly washed and dried. Still very much Missionary minded, he does not wear any fragrances, as that could potentially have been offensive while proselyting. Even his deodorant, if scented at all, will be very mild. ▶ TOUCH: On his end, very minimal, and only when he's absolutely comfortable with the person on the receiving end. He's a bit more tactile with males than females due to missionary rules, but generally keeps his hands to himself other than laying a hand on an arm or shoulder every now and again. Outside the uniform, he's become just a bit less concerned with appearances and keeping his hands to himself, but is still very much naturally reserved. He understands that some people are more hands on than he is, though, and isn't uncomfortable with being touched himself. Actually, he's more likely than not to be too polite to say anything even if someone invades his personal space in a way he isn't entirely comfortable with. ▶ DEMEANOR: ▶ INFORMATION FOR PSYCHICS AND OTHER MAGIC USERS: Kevin has no defenses against magic and no experiences with it or anything even remotely supernatural beyond his experiences in Darrow. Characters who have psychic abilities are free to use anything within his narrative as they will. ▶ MAGICAL ABILITIES: None ▶ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Kevin is extremely healthy and in excellent physical condition. He exercises six days a week, rides a bike for work and still follows fairly closely to the Word of Wisdom when it comes to his diet.  » Kevin has never smoked, done drugs and has only ever had alcohol once. Coffee has, however, become his vice of choice in Darrow. He doesn't have it daily, but does have it a few times a week. » The only major medical issue he's ever had was having a Book of Mormon shoved in his ass by a Ugandan warlord and his lackeys. ▶ GOD-MODDING: NA ▶ OTHER ITEMS OF NOTE: Regarding Kevin's sexuality - as the mun and due to the nature of the character, I'm not comfortable labeling Kevin one way or the other. Straight out of canon asexual is the most accurate label, if one is necessary, as he's had absolutely zero romantic/sexual urges or feelings towards anyone in the past nineteen years. Kevin himself will always say he's straight, because he was taught that straight is the right way to be, lest you want to be excommunicated or shipped off for conversion therapy. Whatever he ultimately is, I want him to figure it out and for it to be done organically, without me pigeonholing him when there's nothing in canon pointing either way.
